I chose to create my first video about my experience abroad. Not only did it fit perfectly with the travel theme of my blog, but I really wanted this video to have great importance to me. It sounds very cheesy, but going abroad for a semester in Florence, Italy shaped me into who I am today. Prior to my experience, I was very sheltered. With growing up and attending college in New York, I saw very little outside of this bubble I was living in. I also wanted this video to give viewers some hope, that when this pandemic ends, they should go out and explore their dream destination. It’s really difficult to stay motivated and optimistic during this troubling time, so I hope that during these few minutes you can catch a glimpse of inspiration and positivity.
These are all clips I filmed throughout my semester abroad. I’ve always wanted to create a short film from these memories, and I’m glad I got to do so! These were all filmed on my iPhone and edited on iMovie. Though these are only a fraction of clips I have from my semester, I chose the clips that inspired me the most and that distracted me from our situation. I separated these clips by: scenery, dancing/ singing, and some food. I had a lot of fun seeing which clips fit in with my choice of song (Volare by Dean Martin) and which flowed well with each other.
I hope you enjoy this short video! Thank you.
For my second video, I wanted to create another video of my experience abroad. I chose to make another video in order to compare and contrast my skills using Adobe Premiere. Throughout the past few weeks, I’ve learned and self taught on how to really utilize this program. I’m extremely happy with the outcome of my video. Although it’s only a minute long, I think this video opposed to my first really captures the abroad experience. I’m also happier with my song choice as well, as I think this one matches up perfectly with the clips I chose! I hope you enjoy both videos, as my goal for creating both is the same: to inspire others to travel and see the world around them. These videos are just a glimpse of what my experience was like, and I hope more than anything, you get to create your own some day! I’ve learned so much with the Adobe programs and I’m happy you get to see the progress I’ve made within them! Enjoy the video!
