The year is 2050. You wake up on a deserted island, alone, confused, and afraid. Before you fell asleep, it was the year of 2030. You were in a coma and twenty years have passed that you have no recollection of. You wake up in a state of panic and ask yourself, “Where am I?” “How did I get here?” and “Am I here alone?” You start cautiously exploring this area you woke up in, and you notice a few clues around you.
The first set of clues are footprints leading to a huge, dark cave with smoke coming out of it. Beside the footprint is a note that reads, “Follow Me.” When you get closer, you notice these aren’t human footsteps, they’re small feet with what look like long claw indents and six toes on each foot. Curious and afraid, you wonder if this could help you piece together any of the past twenty years. Do you follow these footsteps?
You’ve decided you need to know what is inside of the cave. Bracing yourself for the unknown, you slowly begin to enter. All of a sudden you look down and see a tiny creature you’ve never seen before looking right up at you. Like the footprints, it stands on all four and has six toes on each foot. The exotic part is that it’s multicolored, very furry, and has huge orange eyes. This unknown creature is standing right in front of you waiting for you to acknowledge it. You nervously let out a small, “Hello?” The creature starts to scurry away, heading in the direction of the cave, waiting for you to follow along. What do you do?
You follow the creature or You run out of the cave
You quickly run and follow this mysterious creature. You notice the cave entrance begins to shut and you begin to panic. Where is this creature taking you? The creature quickly comes to a halt. You stop and notice there are two paths you can take. Here lies the second clue. One is a green path and the other is a yellow path. You can’t tell what is on either side. You look to the creature for some direction, but it backs away, indicating you need to make the decision. Which path do you take?
Your gut instinct told you to go for the yellow path! Good choice. While running down the path, you notice your surroundings quickly change and turn into a rainforest. You’re still in the cave, but there’s new mythical creatures all around you, exotic plants, unknown sounds, and a purple haze above you. You’re amazed by all that is around you, and it feels like you’ve entered a different universe. The creature leads you to a giant glass window at the end of the forest. You’re shocked at what you just found. Behind the glass are images of all that has happened in the past twenty years you were in your coma for. You have the option to find out how you got here and where your friends and family are. You have no idea if this glass door holds good or bad news. Do you want to know?
I want to find out or I don’t want to know
You decide to brace yourself and find out, even if the news is good or bad. Good news, your friends and family are safe and sound. But there’s a catch, in order to see your loved ones again you must stay on the island for another twenty years by yourself. If you don’t, you can go home but no one will be there.
